Uhm, okay so I've been photography for a while I'm not like a pro or anything But i've been doing it for 7 years or so. This is a good photo I like the concept. BUT. it seems to be a very boring photo to me, it's not got many colours and the colours that are there are a bit... lifeless :T I'm not trying to be mean, but a good tip is to always get some good photos by selecting colours. Portraits are a hard thing to focus on, trust me. If you're going to get a good portrait try and get the picture in portrait orientation not a landcape (Landscape is sideways and portrait is up ways) When you are taking a portrait of someone try to keep out the background and if there is a background try and out of focus it otherwise you're wondering whats going on in the background and not the person. If you're trying to do shadows try and take a photo of just the shadow not just the person, maybe the person doing an action or something like jumping up like you see in those silly car advertisements. Also, as I said the background is also very important, the poles and the bin is kinda ruining it, maybe instead of taking the photo on her side maybe take it behind her or infront of her or something. I don't mean to be mean or anything but these are some key facts c: Also, if you're trying to get a good shot remember the rule of thirds, the rule of thirds will help you. try and split up the photo in a grid of 3 and try and put the main concept in the middle or just on the side. Uhm this is getting WAYYYYYYY Too long so Imma stop now. Anyway, this is a good photo with the concept but work on the colours and poses c: Sorry to make you read all of this x.x anyway! Good job :)

When you said rule of thirds you should have seen my face. XD I never thought of that and it would improve the piece! My goal was to convey feeling of being in a big desolate place and being alone. That's why she is looking at her shadow and looking (or trying to) look sad. I definitely think rule of thirds would help but I'm not exactly sure if the colors would work well for this piece. Maybe if I did a deep saturation with digital art it might help but more colors would be the opposite of what I wanted to convey. I like the idea of a motion pic, like what you said about jumping. xD Thanks, Tilly~ I'll try to improve. :3
